| My associations with this photo are: warrior-woman, strong, strict and very powerful, dragon-woman. So the necklace of symbircites, ammonite, Czech and Toho beads and natural leather of 2 colors was done. #71 Elena Elchaninova-Russia |

“Transition to Flames ” is a variation of spiral stitch with graduating color from silky ivory skin to the orange flames of passion. The choice of varying bead sizes and textures create the rippling ebb and flow of the neck piece representing the bias cuts of fashion while the slow and marked progression of color yields to the vibrant and demanding attention of the flowing flames in the lower portion and the hemline. The sculptural peyote flower catches the movement and color play. #73 Sharon Olivia Marchant-Alaska USA www.lifesongsbeadesign.com |
Time of high technologies has given birth to the strong, ambitious woman of the leader, but despite vital artful designs, inside it fragile, in its heart there lives belief, hope and true love. “Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful.” And in a shower the song sounds "Lady starlight" I see the stars, they're miles and miles away Like our love Lady starlight, help me to find my love Lady starlight, help me tonight Help me to find my love #74 Vasilina Kovalyova-- Israel |
| I have had the cover of Bazaar Magazine that shows Gwen Stefani wearing that beautiful ruffled blue and green dress on the design wall in my sewing room for 3 years. When your contest came along, and I saw that this dress was included in the inspiration gallery, I felt moved to give it a try. I have never designed my own piece of jewelry before since I am primarily a surface embroiderer and bead embroiderer. I enjoyed the challenge of re-creating the ruffles of the dress with beads using some vintage beads, rose montees, and other goodies. #75 Susan Elliott-Maryland USA www.plays-with-needles.blogspot.com |
| When I saw the delicate colors and exceptional layered and wavy structure of this gown I thought that it would be funny to put it upside down; reverse it and create pouches to fill with glamorous pearls and all kinds of yummy gemstones... The layered aspect was the strongest inspiration together with the colors. I used a color gradient herringbone rope as if it was fabric and let it take its own natural shape when bended, then filled the loops with crystal, citrine, iolite, labradorite, and peridot chips, and this way created a sunny landscape which I wanted to be able to also wear ... reversed. So I made little aquamarine 'gemflower clasp' to attach it either one way or the other. #76 Catharina Thomas-Switzerland www.parure.ch |
