| Galilaha is a Sioux name meaning 'attractive'. I also loved how it rolled off my tongue! This piece was a test of my patience and persistence. It was not originally planned to be anything even close to this. This was woven for The Beadsmith using their new line of Metal Seed Beads. This piece incorporates the 'matte copper' of that line. It is bead embroidered and is stitched on Microsuede with a brass collar insert. The center Swarovski rivoli is Vintage in a metallic coppery bronze color and the 2 oval glass cabochons are Siam in color and are from my favorite local vintage bead shop. The copper daggers and blue metal dangles are all also Vintage. The turquoise seed beads and bugle beads are some from my very special stash. They are Picasso turquoise and the seed beads are 1-cut. The center focal is a glass Czech button in copper and turquoise. The 2 Swarovski rivolis on top are Siam and the one on the bottom is Comet Argent Light. Other random items included are Vintage nail heads and embossed silver studs and plenty of Czech Fire Polish crystals along the way. The collar measures approx 13 1/2" in diameter and the longest length in front measures 9 1/2". $700.00 |
